Robin Williams Back for MRS. DOUBTFIRE Sequel

Comedy sequel in the works…

Robin Williams and director Chris Columbus are reuniting for a sequel to their 1993 hit ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ according to the folks over at THR.

The original film, based on the book by Anne Fine, saw Williams playing a struggling actor and divorced father who, in order to be closer to his children, disguises himself as a elderly Scottish nanny named Mrs. Eupheginia Doubtfire. Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan co-starred.

‘Elf’ screenwriter David Berenbaum is on board to write the script, with Elizabeth Gabler and Marisa Paiva overseeing development for Fox 2000.
