Rob Cohen to Direct THE BOY NEXT DOOR

Blumhouse Pictures financing.

‘The Fast and the Furious’ and ‘xXx’ director Rob Cohen is to direct Jennifer Lopez in the indie thriller ‘The Boy Next Door.’

Scripted by Barbara Curry, the plot centres on “a newly separated mother who finds herself attracted to the teenage boy who moves in next door and befriends her son. When she starts and then abruptly ends their illicit romance, he’s not ready to let her go — in a very Fatal Attraction kind of way.”

Heat Vision adds that Kristin Chenoweth (‘Family Weekend,’ ‘Hit and Run,’ ‘Pushing Diaries’) is in talks to co-star as Lopez’s best friend.

Production is set to kick off in the autumn with Jason Blum, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina and John Jacobs producing.
