Rickman and Courtenay join GAMBIT

Coen Brothers caper movie gets a touch of class with it’s latest additions.

Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay have joined Michael Hoffman’s remake of ‘Gambit.’ They joins the previously announced Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz. Rickman will portray Lord Shahbandar and Tom Courtenay will step into the role of The Major.

The remake is based on the 1966 British caper comedy which starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine. Michael Hoffman (‘The Last Station’) is directing from a screenplay by Joel and Ethan Coen (‘No Country for Old Men,’ ‘True Grit’).

The movie is set to start shooting in May in London and centers on Harry Deane (Firth), a London art curator who enlists a Texas Rodeo Queen (Diaz) in a scheme to con the richest man in England.
