Lethal Weapon star joins Marvel’s Thor
Rene Russo has been confirmed as the latest star to join the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor movie.
The Lethal Weapon 3 actress will play Frigga in the adaptation, which sees Chris Hemsworth take on the role of the Norse hero. Russo’s character – Frigga – is the queen of Asgard and mother of Thor and Loki, the villain of the picture to be played by Tom Hiddleston.
Other actors confirmed for the film include Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Stuart Townsend, Jaimie Alexander and Kat Dennings.
Thor will open in cinemas on May 20, 2011.
