The LA Times is reporting that Jesse Eisenberg (‘The Social Network’) is in negotiations to take one of the lead roles in the intergenerational couples drama ‘While We’re Young.’ The movie would reunite Eisenberg with Noah Baumbach, his director on ‘The Squid And The Whale.’

‘While We’re Young’ centers on a “40-ish childless couple that begins feeling alienated from their friends as those friends start to procreate, and strike up an unlikely friendship with a younger couple.”

Back in December 2010 James Franco, Greta Gerwig and Cate Blanchett were all set to alongside Ben Stiller. Now only Stiller remains officially attached to the project.

According to The Time’s source, “a person who was briefed on the project but was not authorized to talk about it publicly,” Naomi Watts is also in talks to join the cast and would play Stiller’s wife. As the trade stresses, no formal deals are in place.
