Smells Like Teen Spirit director attached to Freddy Krueger remake
Music video director Samuel Bayer has signed up to direct the Nightmare On Elm Street remake.
The movie will be a reimagining of the Wes Craven-created Freddy Krueger series, which centred on a serial killer who attacks his victims in their dreams.
The director, responsible for such iconic music videos as Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, will make his feature debut on the project. He is also attached to direct noir thriller Fiasco Heights and the Near Dark remake.
Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will produce Elm Street from a script by Wesley Strick.
