Nicole Kidman Replaces Rachel Weisz in THE RAILWAY MAN

Real life drama swaps out its female lead.

Variety reports that Nicole Kidman will join Colin Firth and Jeremy Irvine on the cast of Jonathan Teplitzy’s ‘The Railway Man,’ replacing Rachel Weisz.

‘The Railway Man,’ which is scheduled to start shooting in April, is based on World War II officer Eric Lomax’s autobiography about his horrific experiences as a Japanese prisoner in World War II, and his remarkable reconciliation with one of his captors 30 years later.

Weisz was due to play Lomax’s wife Patti in the real life drama, but dropped out of the project because she’s required to do additional shooting on ‘The Bourne Legacy’ and Sam Raimi’s ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful.’
