John McClane and son to kick some ass.
20th Century Fox CEO Tom Rothman has announced that the official title for the fifth ‘Die Hard’ film will be ‘A Good Day to Die Hard.’
The official synopsis for ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’:
“Since the first ‘Die Hard’ in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.”
Irish director John Moore (‘Max Payne,’ ‘Behind Enemy Lines’) will be taking the director’s chair, working from a screenplay penned by Skip Woods (‘The A-Team,’ ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’).
According to Variety, Bruce Willis is set to begin reading with actors for the role of McClane’s son, including Ben Foster (‘Rampart’), Paul Dano (‘Looper’), Aaron Paul (‘Breaking Bad’) and Milo Ventimiglia (‘The Divide’). Apparently the studio is also showing strong interest in ‘Fast Five’ star Paul Walker, but he’s not expected to test.
Principle photography is set to kick off in Russia in January 2012 with a tentative release date of February 2013.
