New TERMINATOR Film Hires SHUTTER ISLAND and DRIVE ANGRY Writers

Franchise hires scribes for next installment.

Deadline’s Mike Fleming is hearing that screenwriters Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier have been brought in to tackle the script for the next cinematic outing of the ‘Terminator’ franchise.

Kalogridis’ writing credits include ‘Shutter Island,’ ‘Pathfinder’ and Oliver Stone’s ‘Alexander.’ The scribe also has a working relationship with ‘Terminator’ creator James Cameron, having worked on the script for his long in development ‘Battle Angel’ adaptation and produced ‘Avatar.’

Lussier, is the director behind ‘Drive Angry,’ ‘My Bloody Valentine,’ ‘White Noise: The Light’ and ‘Dracula 2000.’

The next installment of ‘Terminator’ franchise will be produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures (‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ ‘The Master’) and her brother David Ellison of Skydance Productions (‘Star Trek Into Darkness,’ ‘Jack Reacher’).
