Director talks up the superhero epic.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, director Joss Whedon revealed that his forthcoming highly anticipated superhero ensemble ‘The Avengers’ will told from Captain America’s perspective.

“I set out with a very simple problem: There is no reason for these people to be in the same movie. So that’s what my movie has to be about. So much of the movie takes place from Steve Rogers’ perspective, since he’s the guy who just woke up and sees this weird ass world. Everyone else has been living in it.”

This backs up what Chris Evans said in a recent interview with GQ, “[Cap] He’s a straight- shooter. He’s probably pretty boring as far as a character goes, but I feel like he grounds things. When you have these giant personalities and egos, there needs to be someone who brings them back down and reminds that this is a team, not the individual show.”

Of course, that is not to say that Steve Rogers will be the character with most screen time. Wedon has already proved that he can handle large ensemble casts through his work on ‘Buffy,’ ‘Angel,’ ‘Firefly,’ and ‘Serenity.’ So fans of Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Black Widow and Hawkeye can rest assure that their favourites will carry an equal share of the film.
