Champagne all round as Movies.ie wins another award
Irish cinema site Movies.ie won the prestigious Digital Media Award last night for Best Irish Entertainment Website 2009.
The short-list included tough competition but in the end the strong content, fresh layout and social-networking features on Movies.ie impressed the expert judging panel.
Launched in 2003, The Digital Media Awards recognise and reward excellence in the growing Digital Media Sector. The 2009 awards were hosted by Radio and TV celebrity Dave Fanning alongside Minister of State, Sean Power in the newly remodelled Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry. Sponsors of the awards include The Irish Times, Three Telecom, The Digital Hub and UPC.
This is the second major award for Movies.ie, last November the site won an Eircom Golden Spider Award for ‘Best New Irish Website’.
