Sci-fi comedy to shoot next month…

Kate Beckinsale (‘Eliza Graves,’ ‘Underworld’) has landed the female lead opposite Simon Pegg in the Terry Jones-directed sci-fi comedy ‘Absolutely Anything,’ it has been announced.

Set to shoot March 24th in London, the CGI/live-action hybrid film follows Neil Clarke (Pegg), a schoolteacher who suddenly discovers he has magical powers bestowed upon him by aliens (voiced by Python members John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam and Jones). In fact, with the wave of his hand, he can make absolutely anything happen. From wiping out a particularly disruptive class (and bringing them – and anyone else who has ever died – back to life), to turning his best mate into the kind of man women would not only die for, but would worship to the ends of the earth and back. The only snag is getting the words right and, of course, knowing what he really wants. As he struggles with his new-found powers, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (to be voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way.

Beckinsale will play the Pegg’s love interest, Catherine, with Eddie Izzard, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Joanna Lumley also along for the ride. Gavin Scott.

Ben Timlett and Bill Jones of Bill and Ben Productions are producing. Chris Chesser and Mike Medavoy will executive produce.
