Michael Fassbender, Ben Mendelsohn and Kodi Smit-McPhee Head Into SLOW WEST

Trio to lead Western-themed film.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and ‘Prometheus’ star Michael Fassbender is set to team up with Aussie actors Ben Mendelsohn (‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ ‘The Road’) for a Western project called ‘Slow West.’

The film centres on a teenager who moves to the Wild West to reunite with the woman he loves but must team up with a mysterious man for protection when the risks of the frontier become too dangerous.

Ex-Beta Band member turned filmmaker, John Maclean, is attached to make his feature directorial debut on the project, with financial backing coming from Film 4, Fassbender and Conor McCaughan’s DMC Film, and the The New Zealand Film Commission.

Fassbender and Maclean previously worked together on the short films, ‘Man on a Motorcycle’ and Bafta-winning ‘Pitch Black Heist.’
