Michael Douglas to Star in THE REACH

Will also produce the thriller.

Michael Douglas has signed on to star in French director Jean-Baptiste Léonetti’s upcoming thriller ‘The Reach,’ reports ScreenDaily.

Based on the 1972 novel ‘Deathwatch’ by Robb White, the film sees Douglas playing Madec, a hot shot Los Angeles businessman and big game hunter in pursuit of his ultimate prize who hires Ben, a timid geology student, to help him find bighorn sheep in the Mojave Desert. Things take a deadly turn when Madec accidentally shoots and kills an innocent man, and a game of cat-and-mouse unfolds when Ben refuses to take part in a cover-up.

Douglas will produce the thriller via his Furthur Films banner alongside Robert Mitas. The screenplay was penned by Stephen Susco (‘Texas Chainsaw 3D,’ ‘RED,’ ‘The Grudge’).
