Michael Bay Confirms TRANSFORMERS 4

Fourth instalment of the blockbuster franchise scheduled for 2014.

It has been confirmed that Michael Bay is set to return to the director’s chair for another instalment of the box office-busting ‘Transformers’ franchise. The director signed a two-picture deal with Paramount Pictures that will commence this spring with the filming of his passion project ‘Pain and Gain.’ Bay will then follow up with the fourth ‘Transformers.’

While it has yet to be confirmed, Shia Labeouf is not expected to return. Both Bay and his ‘Transfomers’ producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura have stated that the next instalment of franchise will be a “whole new re imagining.” Out promoting ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation,’ di Bonaventura told MTV:

“We’re excited and I think the challenge there is we really are going to do a reboot. What that’s going to be, we don’t even know yet… We’ve got to get a story first. It’s a hybrid because there’s still continuity going on, and there will be a lot of new cast. Whether there’s anybody from the first cast, we don’t even know yet. But it’s going to be a whole new story. But the characters that would certainly come along would be Optimus and Bumblebee, I’m sure.”

Paramount Pictures will release the fourth ‘Transformers’ June 2014.
