Gibson eyes action thriller role…
Mike Fleming over at Deadline has learned that Mel Gibson (‘The Expendables 3,’ ‘Machete Kills’) has entered into talks for the action thriller ‘Blood Father.’
Described as a ‘Taken’-style actioner, the film follows “an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.”
French helmer Jean-François Richet (‘Mesrine,’ ‘Assault on Precinct 13’) is attached to direct with the script coming from ‘The Town’ scribe Peter Craig. Production is planned for May.
