MAN OF STEEL Star Henry Cavill in Talks for THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. May 29, 2013 Would be taking the Napoleon Solo role. Following the news that Tom Cruise had bowed out of the long-in-development big screen reboot of ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,’ Variety has word that ‘Man of Steel’ star Henry Cavill is now being eyed as a would-be replacement. Should Cavill put pen to paper and commit to film, he would be taking the role of Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer’s Illya Kuryakin, agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement who fight against the evil agents of an organization known as THRUSH. ‘Anna Karenina’ actress Alicia Vikander is attached to play the female lead. Production is set to kick off in the autumn with Guy Ritchie behind the camera, directing from a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns. ‘Man of Steel’ opens in Irish cinemas June 14th.
