Joe Wright to helm Live Action Little Mermaid
Director Joe Wright is working to develop a live-action film of The Little Mermaid.
Based on Hans Christian Anderson’s 1837 fairytale The Little Mermaid, the film will follow the young mermaid who trades in her aquatic lifestyle to pursue a land-born human prince.
The movie marks Wright’s return to Working Title having made his first film with them, Pride and Prejudice.
This is the first English-language version of the story to be adapted for a live-action feature.
