Scribes tapped for English-language remake.
Writers Patrick Massett and John Zinman (‘Friday Night Lights,’ ‘Caprica,’ ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’) have been hired to pen James Mangold’s upcoming remake of ‘City State,’ reports Variety.
Released last year, the Icelandic thriller follows the intersecting lives of four people when a foreign mafia decides to take control of the Icelandic drug market: A police woman lost in violence, a mechanic revenging for his lost son, a crime kingpin with a heart condition, and a corrupt police captain in love with a prostitute. The English-language remake will relocate the action Stateside.
Mangold and Cathy Konrad are producing via their Tree Line Films banner, along with Danny Sherman of Thruline Entertainment.
