Kung Fu Panda scribes pen Karate Kid

Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff to pen Karate Kid sequel

Kung Fu Panda scribes Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff have been hired to write the sequel to The Karate Kid.


The first film, starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, cost $40 million to make and has earned $300 million worldwide. It was directed by Harald Zwart.


Columbia Pictures has not revealed the setting or the plot of the sequel. Will Smith will once again produce with Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.
