Knightley Replacing Hathaway in LAGGIES

Hathaway exits the dark comedy.

According to a piece over at EW, Anne Hathaway has had to step away from director Lynne Shelton’s upcoming dark comedy ‘Laggies’ leaving the door open for Keira Knightley to step in and take the role.

With Chloë Moretz, Sam Rockwell and Mark Webber attached to co-star, the film centres on Megan (Knightley), a perpetual adolescent and late-twenty-something who lies to her fiancé about going on a retreat and spends the time hanging out with friends instead.

Shelton (‘Your Sister’s Sister’) will be directing the indie from a screenplay by first-timer Andrea Seigel.

Hathaway’s exit is reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic ‘Interstellar,’ in which she will star opposite Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine.
