Kit Harington and Joel Kinnaman to Lead ARTHUR & LANCELOT

David Dobkin locks in his leads.

Last month it was revealed that actors Kit Harington (‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’) and Joel Kinnaman (‘The Killing,’ ‘The Darkest Hour’) were the frontrunners for writer-director David Dobkin‘s action adventure ‘Arthur & Lancelot.’ Now Showblitz has confirmed that both actors have boarded the project.

THR adds that the film is being envisioned as a “lighthearted action movie” in the vein of ‘Sherlock Holmes,’ with a story that sees “Arthur (Harington) as an illegitimate son being raised by a humble and poor knight in a village who will grow into an inspiring leader while Lancelot (Kinnaman) is a rebellious noble who distrusts the established government.”

According to Showblitz Kinniman received an early offer after his audition, while Harrington had to re-test for his role, beating out the likes of Sam Claflin and Richard Maddon, his co-star in ‘Games of Thrones.’ The role of Merlin has reportedly been offered to Gary Oldman (‘The Dark Knight Rises’).
