KILLING BONO writers to hold free screenwriting course in Dublin

The duo behind big TV and movie hits are sharing the love…

You may or may not know the names Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, but you’ll certainly have heard of their award winning scriptwriting. They’ve had TV hits like ‘The Likely Lads’, ‘Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?’, ‘Porridge’ and ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’. They’ve also penned movies like ‘Flushed Away’, ‘The Bank Job’, ‘The Commitments’ and ‘Killing Bono’.

Sadly, no one writes TV like that any more…. but maybe you can.
The BAFTA winning duo are visiting Dublin on March 22nd for a screen writing course run in association with IFTA and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

Dick and Ian will be speaking about their background, skill set, and inspiration as well as the creative process, the importance of an ear for dialogue and the challenges and benefits of collaborative work. This evening will provide a fantastic opportunity to delve into the world of working as a screenwriter in Hollywood. Audience members will be invited to ask questions and clips will be shown from their body of work to illustrate various points throughout the conversation.

This event is FREE (Our favourite word!) and open to Members of the Irish Film & Television Academy and their guests.
