Josh Brolin Joins Paul Thomas Anderson’s INHERENT VICE

Sean Penn rumoured for a role.

Josh Brolin (‘Men in Black III’) has become the latest to join the ensemble cast of Paul Thomas Anderson‘s ‘Inherent Vice,’ according to Deadline.

Brolin, who recently wrapped on Spike Lee’s reboot of ‘Oldboy,’ joins Joaquin Phoenix (‘The Master’), Reese Witherspoon (‘Mud ’), Owen Wilson (‘The Internships’), Martin Short (‘Frankenweenie’), Benicio Del Toro (‘Savages’), and Jena Malone (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’), along with Sean Penn reportedly eyeing a role as well.

An adaptation of Thomas Pynchon detective novel of the same name, the film is set in Los Angeles at the turn of the 1970s, and follows drug-fuelled detective Larry “Doc” Sportello (Phoenix) as he uncovers a plot to kidnap a billionaire land developer.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin this summer with Anderson, Megan Ellison, John Lesher and JoAnne Seller producing.
