Travolta to play New York mobster.
THR reports that John Travolta has finalized a deal to play John Gotti Sr. in the indie film ‘Gotti: Three Generations.’
The movie will focus on the relationship between John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family who died in prison in 2002, and his son John Gotti Jr., who took over the family business for his father, served time in prison, but then successfully escaped conviction in four subsequent racketeering trials.
Gotti Jr has given the movie his blessing and is planning to join the producers. Directing the project will be Nick Cassavetes (‘Alpha Dog,’ ‘The Notebook’) from a screenplay by Leo Rossi.
