Jeremy Renner (‘The Bourne Legacy,’ ‘Avengers Assemble’) is reportedly being lined up to join Bradley Cooper on the cast of David O. Russell’s real-life drama ‘American Bullshit.’
The Black List script by Eric Warren Singer (‘The International’) is based on the true story of Mel Weinberg, a notorious financial con artist and his mistress/partner in crime who were forced to work with an intense and ambitious FBI agent to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters and politicians.”
According to Variety, Cooper is negations to play Weinberg, while Renner is up for the role of Jimmy Boyle, the FBI agent who busts Weinberg then partners with him in the sting.
The role of Boyle was previously linked to Christian Bale, but ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ star is busy filming two back-to-back projects with Terrence Malick.
