Statham to do what he does best.
Jason Statham has closed a deal to star in the new $20 million action thriller ‘Hummingbird,’ reports THR.
The film, which marks the directorial debut of Oscar nominated screenwriter Steven Knight (‘Clash of the Titans 2,’ ‘Eastern Promises,’ ‘Dirty Pretty Things’), will see Statham playing “a damaged ex-special forces soldier trapped in London’s criminal underworld who is transformed into an avenging angel when an unexpected opportunity allows him to assume another identity. Once believing he was beyond redemption, he now seeks out his own version of justice.”
Stuart Ford’s IM Global production banner will finance the project alongside Oscar nominated producers Paul Webster (‘Salmon Fishing in Yemen,’ ‘Atonement’) and Tracey Seaward (‘War Horse,’ ‘The Queen’).
