Jamie Doran Leads THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE

Film will shoot next year in Ireland and South Africa…

Jamie Doran, the Northern Irish actor who is set to become a household name playing Christian Grey in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ has scored the lead in ‘The Siege Of Jadotville.’

Penned by Kevin Brodbin (‘Constantine’), the a taut geo-political action thriller which centres around the siege of 150 UN Irish troops in the Congo in 1961 after the Pro-western leader Moise Tshombe took control of the Katanga region and killed the Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba.

Dornan will play Irish Commandant Pat Quinlan, who led the troops during the crisis.

The film, which shoots in Ireland and South Africa early 2015, will mark the feature debut of video and commercials director Richie Smyth.

“I can’t wait to get stuck into Jadotville,” Dornan said. “It’s an unbelievable story and Commandant Pat Quinlan is going to be a treat of a character to tackle.”

“We are delighted that Jamie has come on board”, said producer Alan Moloney of Parallel Films. “Kevin has written a great script and Richie is long overdue his movie debut. This is an action thriller that Jamie is going to shine in”.
