James Wan Developing MALIGNANT MAN Adaptation

Will produce and possibly direct adaptation…

20th Century Fox has acquired the film rights to the 2011 graphic novel ‘Malignant Man,’ with plans for a feature adaptation, according to Deadline.

Created by filmmaker James Wan (‘Saw,’ ‘Insidious’) and Michael Alan Nelson, with artwork from Piotr Kowalski, the Boom! Studios title focuses on Alan Gates, “a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumour is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past.”

Wan, who is currently in production on ‘Fast & Furious 7,’ will develop ‘Malignant Man’ with an eye toward directing. The filmmaker will also produce the film with Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Adam Yoelin.
