James McAvoy to play Bond creator Ian Fleming
James McAvoy has signed up to star as James Bond creator Ian Fleming in a film about the writer’s life.
Based on Andrew Lycett’s book Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond, the story takes place in the years of the author’s life that inspired him to create the British secret agent.
Fleming was a Naval intelligence officer during WWII and later worked as a journalist for Reuters before writing Casino Royale in 1953.
McAvoy will next be seen opposite Helen Mirren in The Last Station.
