JACOB’S LADDER Remake In Development

1990 cult hit getting remake treatment.

Producer Mickey Liddell of LD Entertainment is planning a remake of Adrian Lyne’s 1990 psychological horror-thriller classic ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ with scribe Jeff Buhler (‘The Midnight Meat Train’) on board to pen the script based on an earlier draft by Jake Wade Wall (‘When a Stranger Calls’).

Starring Tim Robbins in the lead, the original ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ centred on Jacob Singer, a Vietnam veteran living in New York City whose experiences both prior to and during the war have resulted in strange flashbacks and bizarre hallucinations that continue to haunt him in his everyday life.

Heat Vision is saying that the aim is to contemporize the story and make something more akin to an homage rather than mimic the original. The producers are out to directors.
