‘Black Swan’ star Natalie Portman is being courted by Fox Searchlight for the lead in ‘Jackie,’ the studio’s upcoming biopic of Jackie Kennedy.
Scripted by Noah Oppenheim, the film chronicles the four days between President Kennedy’s assassination and his burial, showing the beloved First Lady at both her most vulnerable and her most graceful.
The project was initially set up with Darren Aronofsky directing his then wife Rachel Weisz, but the project fell into development hell when the couple split.
According to Deadline, Portman likes the script but the actress’s participation will depend on a director. Steven Spielberg was reportedly interested in the project back in 2010.
