The summer is finally here and it kicks off with ‘Iron Man’, the first big summer blockbuster, exploding into cinemas at number 1. The film earned a whopping €659,000 since opening Thursday with rumours of a sequel already in the works!
Sarah Marshall is proving she won’t soon be forgotten at number two this weekend- worth a watch, if only for the final scene’s puppet show. We have two new entries in at numbers three and four; wedding rom-com ‘Made of Honour’ and kid flick ‘Nim’s Island’ respectively. Jessica Alba’s Eye is proving to be a steady earner at number five, bringing in €150,000 since opening.
It’s been well over a month since it was released and ‘In Bruges’ is proving to be one of the most Ireland’s greatest successes at number six. Vegas card flick ‘21’ slips down to seven this week and Fool’s Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, is in at eight.
Underdog is at nine, but will he be the underdog and climb up the charts next week? (We doubt it), and finally, dancing out of the charts is ‘Step Up 2 the Streets’ at ten.
New films out Friday we expect to see in the charts include ‘Speed Racer’ and ‘What Happens In Vegas’.
