Irish Rental Charts

Your up-to-date guide to what’s topping the rental charts.

What’s topping the rental charts this week? Here’s the run down of the top 10 films.

1 ATONEMENT  ***See It!***

Winning the BAFTA for best film, Atonement is an adaptation of  Ian McEwan’s
critically acclaimed novel. Directed by Joe Wright, the film stars James McAvoy and Keira Knightley as two lovers driven apart by war. A good pick for Valentine’s Night.

2 THE HEARTBREAK KID     *** Avoid It!***

Comedy with Ben Stiller as the man who marries the woman from Hell, also known as the woman who makes you rent this movie… Avoid at all costs.

THE KINGDOM    ***Ignore it***

Political-Action drama that can’t decide what it wants to be. Starring Jamie Fox and Chris Copper, the film centres on   the U.S. government  and  the Middle East with a lot of action in-between. Neither the best nor worst  film of its type, however there are better political dramas and/or action dramas out there…

SUPERBAD      ***Consider it***

Teen comedy written by Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) and Evan Goldberg. Two horny teenage nerds  Evan and Seth  are about to go off to college. Before they do, both want to lose their virginity and think they’ve finally found their chance when invited to a graduation party . Problems arise when the boys are made responsible for supplying the party with alcohol…Crude, but generally that’s the point, you’ll either love or hate it.

MR BROOKS     ***Wait for the Telly screening***

Kevin Costner stars as a seemingly normal man with a dark secret. A new release (probably the reason for its being so high up the charts) we recommend you wait for it to go to television..
