Inglorious Basterds tops SAG Awards

Basterds , Bullock and Bridge win big at SAG Awards

Inglorious Basterds, Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges have been honoured at this years Screen Actors Guild Awards.

 


Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds trumped An Education, Nine, The Hurt Locker and Precious to the top film prize awarded by the guild’s some 120,000 members.

 


This is the film’s most prestigious award so far, although it has already received acclaim from critics and viewers.


Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock were again celebrated for their respective roles in Crazy Heart and The Blindside, adding to their gongs at the Globes.

 


Bullock, who has previously been best known for her romantic comedies, said she was stunned:, “If you look at my career, nobody would have expected this,” she said. I was lucky I wanted to better my work and that I was given the opportunity,” she added, revealing that she expected Meryl Streep to win for her role as chef Julia Child in Julie and Julia.

 


Bridges’ performance as a drunken country singer in Crazy Heart, garnered a standing ovation when he accepted his award.
