Hugh Jackman Circling Spy Thriller SECTION 6

Film will focus on Brit spymaster Sir Mansfield Cummings…

Universal Pictures has secured the rights to up-and-coming screenwriter Aaron Berg’s ‘Section 6,’ a historical spy thriller that attracted the attention of A-list stars like Hugh Jackman.

Berg’s spec script centres on the formation of the British Secret Intelligence Service, more commonly known as MI6 and its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings, the man who served as the inspiration for M in the ‘James Bond’ series.

The guys over TheWrap are hearing that several filmmakers, like ‘Fast and Furious’ director Justin Lin and Brett Ratner (‘X-Men: The Last Stand’), have expressed interest in stepping behind the camera for the project.

Lawrence Grey (‘Last Vegas,’ ‘Garage Days’) is on board to produce alongside Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Universal-based banner Marc Platt Productions.
