Hoffman, Bates and Molina Join BOYCHOIR

Trio cast for indie drama…

Dustin Hoffman, Kathy Bates, and Alfred Molina are all set to lead French-Canadian filmmaker François Girard’s next directorial offering, the indie drama ‘Boychoir.’

With a screenplay penned by ‘Source Code’ scribe Ben Ripley, the film centres on Stet, a troubled and angry 11-year-old from the wrong side of the tracks who finds himself at a Boy Choir school, where he locks horns with a demanding choir master (Hoffman), who recognizes a unique talent in the boy.

Bates will play the school’s headmistress, while Molina is set to play Drake, a teacher at the school.

Principal photography is scheduled for February in Connecticut and New York with Informant Media financing and producing. A worldwide search is underway to cast the young lead.
