Two more board heist thriller…
Woody Harrelson (‘True Detective,’ ‘Out of the Furnace’) has become the latest addition to the ensemble cast of the John Hillcoat-directed heist thriller ‘Triple Nine,’ says Deadline.
Scripted by Matt Cook, the plot involves a crew of dirty cops who are blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.”
Variety adds that ‘Captain America: The Winter Solider’ star Anthony Mackie is in negotiations for a role.
Production is scheduled to kick off this summer with a cast that includes Harrelson’s ‘Out of the Furnace’ co-star Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor (’12 Years A Slave’), Kate Winslet (‘Divergent’), Michael B. Jordan (‘Fruitvale Station’), ‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer (‘Warm Bodies’), and Gal Gadot (‘Man of Steel 2’).
