Australian actress Toni Collette and ‘Leon’ star Jean Reno have both closed deals to join Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, Desiree Zurowski, and Jakob Davies on the cast of the dramatic comedy ‘Hector And The Search For Happiness.’
Adapted French psychiatrist and author François Lelord’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film follows Hector (Pegg), a successful psychiatrist with the right spectacles, the right office furniture, and all the right medications at his disposal but he feels like a failure. When a patient tells him he looks in need of a vacation, Hector takes a trip around the world to learn what makes people happy and sad. As he travels from Paris to China to Africa to the United States, he lists his observations about the people he meets. Is there a secret to happiness, and will Hector find it?
The film will be produced by Egoli Tossell’s Judy Tossell and Christine Haebler of Screen Siren Pictures. Jens Meurer and Trish Dolman will serve as executive producers.
