Heat Vision has word that MMA fighter-turned-action star Gina Carano (‘Haywire’) is in negotiations to join the cast of the sixth installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the film sees Paul Walker and Vin Diesel reprising their lead roles of Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto, while Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be back as Diplomatic Security Service Agent Luke Hobbs.
According to the trade, Carano will be playing a member of Johnson’s team, joining him on his pursuit of the rogue heroes.
‘Expendables’ and ‘Transporter’ star Jason Statham was previously rumoured to be joining the billion-dollar franchise, but a deal could not be reached.
Justin Lin is back in the director’s chair, helming from a script by Chris Morgan, who penned the last three films in the franchise.
