Deadline reports that Craig Gillespie (‘Lars and the Real Girl’) is set to be announced as the director of ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.’
The director, who has just finished up the ‘Fright Night’ remake with Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin, has been the long rumoured frontrunner for the movie. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith novel of the same name, the film sees Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ told against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse.
Mike White and David O. Russell were previously attached to the adaptation. Deadline suggests that other candidates considered included the author and his partner, David Katzenberg. According to the site, the studio has told other aspirants that Gillespie will filling the director’s chair.
