Kinnear in talks for family drama.
THR is reporting that Greg Kinnear (‘The English Teacher,’ ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It,’ ‘Little Miss Sunshine’) is in talks to star in ‘Heaven Is For Real’ for director Randall Wallace (‘Secretariat,’ ‘Braveheart,’ ‘We Were Soldiers’).
Scripted by Christopher Parker (‘Battle of the Year’), the film is based on Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent’s best-selling book ‘Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back,’ which chronicled Burpo’s son’s near-death experience and subsequent claim that he visited heaven. His family and the members of his small town do not believe him until he describes details of things he could never have known.
Joe Roth (‘Oz the Great and Powerful’) will produce along with T.D. Jakes (‘Sparkle,’ ‘Winnie’).
