Long-in-development drama back on track after five years.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Paul Greengrass (‘Green Zone,’ ‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’ ‘Bloody Sunday’) is in final talks to take the helm of the Aaron Sorkin-penned ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7.’

The film chronicles the infamous trials of seven Vietnam protesters accused of inciting riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Greengrass had been rumoured for the director’s chair back in 2008 just before the project fell into development hell.

‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ is eyeing a January 2014 start.
