Goodman, Cheadle, Greenwood & Geraghty Board Zemeckis

Zemeckis lands four more for his return to live-action filmmaking.

John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Bruce Greenwood and Brian Geraghty are all set to join Denzel Washington and Kelly Reilly for the airplane drama ‘Flight.’

In the movie, Washington plays a commercial airline pilot who heroically flies a damaged plane to safety, saving 98 lives on a flight carrying 106 people. That achievement comes under a cloud when an investigation finds evidence of substance abuse.

According to Deadline, Goodman will be playing “a friend of the pilot who helps him come to terms with his problems.” Geraghty will play Washington’s co-pilot, a man who finds religion after the crash.

Robert Zemeckis is attached to direct, his first live-action movie since 2000s ‘Castaway.’ ‘Flight’ was penned by John Gatins (‘Real Steel,’ ‘Dreamer’).
