Ribisi joins Ruben Fleischer’s period crime drama.
Giovanni Ribisi has landed a co-starring role in ‘The Gangster Squad,’ joining Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena and Bryan Cranston.
Set in 1940s Los Angeles, the movie centers two cops (played by Gosling and Brolin) leading an elite squad of officers assigned to bring down gangster Mickey Cohen (Penn). Deadline reports that Ribisi will play Conway Keeler, a cop in the group who is a master of electronics and wires.
‘Zombieland’ director Ruben Fleischer will be helming from a screenplay by Will Beall (‘Castle’).
