Supported by his beautiful wife Aileen and their three children, John is on the fast track. But just as his career is taking off, Crowley walks away from it all when his two youngest children, Megan and Patrick, are diagnosed with a fatal disease. Crowley teams up with scientist, Dr. Robert Stonehill. Together they form a bio-tech company focused on developing a life-saving drug. One driven to prove himself and his theories, the other by a chance to save his children, this unlikely alliance eventually develops into mutual respect as they battle the medical and business establishments in a fight against the system — and time. But, when it appears that a solution has been found, the relationship between the two men faces a final test. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant will reunite to work on a film script. Having previously worked together on BBC’s ‘The Office’ and ‘Extras’, the two men will collaborate on ‘The Men at the Pru’, a ‘coming of age’ tale set in the 1970s. Speaking about the project, Gervais told Radio 1: “They work for the building society and they’re having a great time but it’s about them coming of age and having to grow up.” Gervais is currently working on the ‘This Side of the Truth, starring Juno stars Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman, and Superbad’s Jonah Hill. The film centres of Gervais’ character Mark, who discovers he can lie in a world where only the truth exists. There is no date on ‘The Men at the Pru, but Gervias fans can looking forward to his directorial debut ‘This Side of the Truth’ in 2009.
