Bird-directed project eyes Clooney.
THR is reporting that Brad Bird (‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,’ ‘The Incredibles’) and Walt Disney Pictures are in negotiations with George Clooney to star in their mysterious sci-fi project ‘1952.’
Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps, but the film is said to be in the vein of Steven Spielberg’s 1978 classic ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ in which a man makes contact with aliens on Earth.
Filming on Bird’s mystery-shrouded project is expected to begin in 2013 with Damon Lindelof (‘Prometheus,’ ‘Lost’) and Jeff Jensen providing the screenplay.
