George Clooney is reportedly getting back in the director’s chair.
According to Vulture, Clooney is interested in helming the drama Farragut North, and he already has a dream cast that includes Chris Pine, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, and Marisa Tomei.
Farragut North is based on the stage play of the same name that’s “set in Des Moines, Iowa, just weeks before the state’s Democratic caucuses officially commence; it follows the exploits of a twenty something presidential campaign spinmeister/wunderkind named Stephen Myers, and the dirty pool he plays to get his candidate the nomination against a rival senator.”
The film is currently independent but Clooney is looking at Sony to distribute. Filming is expected to begin in February.
