Filming to kick off in October.
Gael Garcia Bernal (‘No,’ ‘Y Tu Mama Tambien’) has signed on to take the lead in the Spanish inide film ‘Desierto,’ reports Variety.
With ‘Gravity’ co-writer Jonas Cuaron directing, the film centres on two illegal immigrants crossing the border into the United States who are running for their lives from a drunk American citizen who has taken border patrol into his own hands. While they fight for their own lives, the immigrants learn to fight for each other and become close in the process.
Production is scheduled for October in Baja California with Alfonso Cuaron, Carlos Cuaron, Alex Garcia, and Lucas Akoskin producing.
