English actress Rose Leslie, best known for her role as Ygritte in the hit series ‘Game of Thrones,’ has been tapped to star opposite Vin Diesel in the Breck Eisner-directed ‘The Last Witch Hunter.’
Scripted by Cory Goodman (‘Priest,’ ‘Apollo 18’), the supernatural actioner sees Diesel playing a semi-immortal witch hunter wandering the streets of modern New York City who is forced to partner with his natural enemy, a female witch. The two must stop a villainous witch queen from obtaining a relic and unleashing plague upon humanity.
THR has Leslie playing “a witch and love interest opposite Diesel.”
Eisner is expected to get the cameras rolling in August with Mark Canton, Samantha Vincent, Bernie Goldmann and Diesel producing.
